What you agree to when you use Hippo

• You get to use Hippo to study for your classes
• We get to run Hippo as a service and improve it over time
• You agree to be honest about who you are
• We agree to protect your data

• Upload YOUR own class materials
• Use Hippo to study, plan, quiz yourself, and chat with the tutor
• Share your public flashcard decks with classmates
• Invite friends via referral links

• Upload copyrighted material you don't have permission to use
• Try to hack, reverse-engineer, or scrape Hippo
• Share your account with other people
• Use Hippo to cheat on exams in ways that violate your school's honor code

• Hippo uses AI to generate study materials
• AI can make mistakes — Hippo flags what it's unsure about (see the "inferred" tags)
• You're responsible for verifying anything critical with your professor or textbook
• Don't submit AI-generated content as your own work if your school prohibits it

• Hippo has a free tier and paid tiers (Pro / Premium)
• You can cancel anytime
• Refunds within 7 days of subscription start, no questions asked

• You can delete your account anytime
• We can terminate your account if you violate these terms
• Your data is deleted within 30 days of termination

• Hippo is a study tool, not a guarantee you'll ace your class
• Hippo is not affiliated with any school or professor
• We do our best but we can't promise Hippo is always available or bug-free

• If we change these terms, we'll email you before the change takes effect
• You can decline the changes by deleting your account
